Ashura is when the Shia commemorate the death of Imam Hussein at the battle of Karbala in the 7th century. It's often a day of flowing rhetoric about martyrdom and this year's fighting in Gaza offered Hezbollah's leader a perfect theme for the ceremony in Dahiyeh, the Shia suburb of Beirut. Nothing new in the speech but the crowd's chants of "Jew, Jew, Hosni Mubarak is a Jew," was priceless. It came in response to Nasrallah once again laying into the Egyptian president for not opening the border crossing with Gaza at Rafah. Analysts in Beirut call Nasrallah's Egypt baiting. "a strategic turning point". To me it seems that he is just having a good time.
